Our Ideas
Our development is based on the mature and well established Java Enterprise (J2EE) language. CSWi also specialises in the XML mark-up language and its numerous related technologies, and have been involved in the development and application of XML since its inception in late 1996. The technology is now ubiquitous in open standards development on the Internet.
Our presentation delivery methods are based on the major open standards available today, providing clients and end users with the best possible user experience. These standards include (X)HTML, CSS and ECMAScript.
We can apply classification technologies, including ontologies and thesauri, to your content to provide advanced search capabilities, and to allow relationships with existing knowledge to be built. We are experts in the use of current classification and modelling standards, including RDF, OWL and Topic Maps.
Finally, we embrace the principles and goals of the Web2.0 movement. Key components include:
- Standards-based design and implementation
- Open programming interfaces to allow remixing of content
- A focus on simplicity
- Data feeds for syndication and aggregation of content.
CSWi's Knowledge Management Suite shares the same technology platform as our clinical systems. Since 1998 customers of our XML-based content and knowledge management technology have included the Pharmaceutical Press (for production of the British National Formulary), BMJ Publishing Group, BBC, United Nations FAO and Jaguar Cars.
