Ian Packard
Job Title: Software Engineer
Ian Packard has been a software engineer with CSW for five years. His background is in network administration, giving him a thorough understanding of network technologies and troubleshooting.
Ian is an experienced Java software developer and has consistently used UML and design patterns to create web-based applications.
While working with CSW, Ian has been involved in the completion of several major projects including a BBC Monitoring Portal, a National Data Spine clinical application, as well as Case Notes kernel development and workflow for the European Foundation.
His skills include Java (J2SE, J2EE), ASP, C++, SmallTalk, VisualBasic, MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle 9, ANT, Apache, IIS, Linux, Windows 2000/XP, XML, XSLT, XSD, HL7 v3, JavaScript, CSS, Struts, Spring Framework, CVS, SVN, SunOne, Resin, OO Design Patterns, UML, IntelliJ Idea, TCP/IP.
In Ian's spare time he plays a lot of football and basketball, and enjoys almost anything that keeps him active. Ian is also undertaking further studies with the Open University in order to continue to develop his computer skills.
